At the end of June, our PhD student Maike Ramrath attended the HCI International 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden - one of the world's most important conferences in the field of human-computer interaction. Participating in the conference was a great opportunity to follow current research trends, make new contacts, and exchange ideas with international colleagues on key issues in HCI. The many discussions, both during the sessions and in between, were particularly valuable.

During the conference, Maike Ramrath presented the Product Aesthetics Inventory (PAI)  - a scientifically validated instrument for the differentiated evaluation of the aesthetics of interactive products such as household appliances, consumer electronics, and power tools. The PAI was developed in three extensive studies with over 7,000 participants and maps eight dimensions, including visual design, haptics, and interaction aesthetics. The short version (PAI-S) offers a practical supplement for research and design processes.
