Research cooperation: FIRE project with the NRW Fire Service Institute
The FIRE (Feedback Instruments for Rescue Force Development) project has been combining successful research with practice at the NRW Fire Service Institute (IdF NRW), the largest fire service training and further education centre in Germany, for over ten years. Prof. Dr Meinald Thielsch, who was previously responsible for the project at the University of Münster, will continue the collaboration at the University of Wuppertal from autumn 2025.
At the Chair of Occupational and Environmental Psychology, the close interlinking of science and fire service practice will be further expanded in order to advance practical research with direct benefits for emergency services.
