Every two years, the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP for short) organises a congress at which European work and organisational psychologists meet and exchange ideas. Once again this year, this major event made it possible to strengthen existing networks & build new ones, hold enriching discussions and stimulate new research ideas.

Our PostDoc Mira von der Linde represented AUW's work and environmental psychology with a presentation at this year's EAWOP in Prague at the end of May.

What was it about? In the broadest sense, occupational safety: In her presentation, Mira von der Linde presented results from a study that investigated which predictors and which cognitive processes influence the reactions of laypersons to fire incidents. Overall, these are in particular self-efficacy expectations and, in the work context, place attachment. Place attachment describes the extent to which people feel connected to a place. If you are interested in the background and further results of this or similar studies, please contact Mira von der Linde(vonderlinde[at]uni-wuppertal.de).
