AOWI2025 in Lüneburg, Germany

From September 9 to 12, 2025, researchers, practitioners, and early-career scholars met at Leuphana University in Lüneburg to exchange ideas under the motto “Changing Working Environments: Cooperation between Humans and Technology.”
Meinald Thielsch, Mira von der Linde, Maike Ramrath, and Norman Jung from the Work and Environmental Psychology team traveled together to Lüneburg. Mira von der Linde presented a poster on the self-efficacy of laypeople in emergency situations. The results show that healthy individuals are particularly confident in their ability to act correctly in the context of fires, whereas in other emergencies such as first aid or natural hazards, health status appears to play a smaller role.
Maike Ramrath and Norman Jung also presented posters on their dissertation projects. The poster format proved especially valuable for establishing new contacts and receiving constructive feedback for the next steps in their doctoral studies.
For the Work and Environmental Psychology team, AOWI25 was also their first joint conference trip. In addition to professional exchange, the focus was therefore on shared experiences as a team. With many new impressions and ideas in hand, the team is already looking forward to future conferences.
